How to Access Your Web Hosting Control Panel

Your Electron Websites hosting account includes access to a web-based control panel that allows you to manage many aspects of your website and hosting services.

The Control Web Panel (CWP) provides tools for managing website files, email accounts, databases, domains, and other hosting features.

This article explains how to access your hosting control panel and introduces some of its most commonly used features.

Step 1: Locate Your Hosting Account Information

When your hosting account is activated, Electron Websites provides the information needed to access your hosting services.

Your hosting account information may include:

  • Control Panel URL: The web address used to access your hosting control panel.
  • Username: Your hosting account username.
  • Password: The password assigned to or established for your hosting account.
  • Server Information: Additional details about the server hosting your website.

Check your hosting activation email for these details.

Important: Your hosting control panel credentials may be different from the email address and password used to access the Electron Websites Client Portal.

Step 2: Open Your Hosting Control Panel

Open your preferred web browser and enter the Control Panel URL provided with your hosting account.

The login page should appear.

Enter your hosting account username and password, then select Login.

For security, always verify that you are accessing the correct website and that your browser displays a secure HTTPS connection.

Step 3: Explore the Control Panel

After signing in, you will see the Control Web Panel dashboard.

Depending on your hosting package and account permissions, you may have access to the following features:

File Management

The File Manager allows you to upload, download, edit, and organize files stored in your hosting account.

This is particularly useful for managing website files without requiring a separate FTP application.

Email Accounts

The email management tools allow you to create and manage email accounts associated with your domain.

You may also be able to change mailbox passwords, configure forwarding, and access other email-related settings.

Databases

The database tools allow you to manage MySQL or MariaDB databases used by applications such as WordPress.

Advanced database management may also be available through phpMyAdmin.

Domains and Subdomains

Depending on your hosting package, you may be able to manage additional domains and create subdomains.

A subdomain is an address such as blog.example.com or shop.example.com.

SSL Certificates

SSL certificates help protect information transmitted between your website and its visitors by enabling secure HTTPS connections.

Your hosting control panel may provide options for viewing and managing SSL certificates.

Backups

Depending on your hosting package, backup-related tools may be available.

Important: Even when server backups are provided, we recommend maintaining independent copies of important website files and databases before making significant changes.

Step 4: Log Out When Finished

When you have finished managing your hosting account, use the Logout option to end your control panel session.

This is particularly important when accessing your account from a shared or public computer.

For additional security, avoid saving your hosting password in browsers on computers you do not own or control.

Troubleshooting Login Problems

If you're unable to access your hosting control panel, try the following:

  1. Verify the URL: Make sure you're using the correct Control Panel address provided with your hosting account.
  2. Check your credentials: Confirm that your username and password have been entered correctly. Passwords are case-sensitive.
  3. Try another browser: Browser extensions or stored session information can occasionally interfere with login.
  4. Check your connection: Make sure your internet connection is working properly.
  5. Contact Support: If the problem continues, submit a support ticket through your Electron Websites Client Portal.

Avoid repeatedly guessing passwords, as multiple unsuccessful login attempts may temporarily block access to your hosting account.
